PMS includes recurrent signs and symptoms that develop during the seven to fourteen days prior to menstruation. This condition occurs in most women 3-7 days before the flow starts or in some women it can begin at the time of ovulation and last for 14 days until the flow starts. Usually the symptoms are mild in most of the cases, but in few cases they can be severe when it is known as "Premenstrual dystrophic disorder".
Symptoms and signs:
Also known as reflux, heartburn, or acid indigestion. Reflux is derived from "re" meaning "back" and "fluxus" meaning "flow". Gastroesopageal reflux is a form of dyspepsia (indigestion) where stomach contents are regurgitated into the oesophagus and sometimes the mouth, which results in a burning sensation in the stomach or chest. This is commonly described as "heartburn'. There may also be the sensation of fluid in the oesophagus or mouth, and a sour or bitter taste.
Chlorophyll
Chlorophyll is a green pigment present in plant foods that has a similar molecular structure to the red haemoglobin pigment found in the blood cells of humans. One important difference between chlorophyll and haemoglobin is that the former contains magnesium, whilst the latter contains iron. The properties of chlorophyll and its effects in the human body are not completely understood, however this pigment is believed to have many health benefits, including detoxification, cleansing, and anti-inflammatory actions.
Spirulina
Sprirulina contains significant amounts of B group vitamins including thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, folic acid and vitamin and vitamin B12 (although vitamin B12 is in a form that appears to be not absorbed by humans), as well as Vitamin C, E and D. This algae also has a high mineral content with considerable amounts of magnesium, potassium, phosphorus, iron, calcium and other trace elements.
The over-the-counter dietary supplement SAM-e ("Sammy") shows promise as an alternative treatment to prescription drugs for depression and osteoarthritis and may help some chronic liver conditions, according to an Evidence Report Summary on the supplement released. The evidence Report on SAM-e, introduced to the US in 1998, was sponsored by the US Department of Health and Human Service (HHS) Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ).
Water
1) 75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated. (Likely applies to half world population)
2) In 37% of Americans, the thirst mechanism is so weak that it is often mistaken for hunger.
3) Even MILD dehydration will slow down one’s metabolism as 3%.
4) One glass of water will shut down midnight hunger pangs for almost 100% of the dieters studies in a U-Washington study.
5) Lack of water, the #1 trigger of daytime fatigue.
Diets that are low in total calories may not contain adequate amounts of various vitamins and minerals. For that reason, taking a Multi-vitamin and Mineral supplement is advocated by proponents of many types of weight-loss programs, and is essential when calorie intake will be less then 1, 100 calories per day.
Cigarette smoking is the largest preventable cause of death and disease in Australia. There is no safe level of tobacco use, and smoking is highly addictive. Most tobacco today comes from the plant Nicotina tabacum, although 66 other species of plant are known to contain nicotine, including 19 plants that are native to Australia (at least 5 of these are known to have been used by Aboriginals).
